DRAEGER MERLIN TELEMENTRY ENTRY CONTROL BOARD (ECB)
Accountability:
The use of personal tallies registers the firefighter with the Control Board enabling the transfer of data via radio. The data available to the fiefighter is repeated on the display of the control board.
Transmission of Data:
Polling cycle of 20 seconds ensures that data is received by the Entry Control Board (and therefore the Entry Control Officer). Choice of data displayed is:
Pressure,
Time remaining,
Time elapsed.
Personal Warnings:
Dräger PSS® Merlin is used in conjunction with Bodyguard, and supports both the manual and automatic PASS alarms (ADSU). These alarms are displayed on the Control Board visually and audibly to allow rescue actions to be taken when BA wearers are in trouble.
Withdrawal Signaling:
Dräger PSS® Merlin through the user interface Bodyguard, is used to allow 2-way signalling between the Entry Control Officer (ECO) and the BA Wearer. The wearer can send a voluntary withdrawal signal, which the ECO can acknowledge. In cases where the Incident Commander wishes to withdraw fire fighters, the ECO can send a withdrawal command to individual fire fighters or the whole team, and this in turn is ackowledged by fire fighters, ensuring accountability is monitored.
