Rochester NY Firerighters Begin Escape Systems Training

Firefighters with Rochester NY Fire Department began training on their firefighter escape systems. All Hands Fire Equipment equipped the City of Rochester with more than 500 Sterling F4 Escape Systems and Gemtor Harnesses. The Sterling authorized training is being provided by All Hands Fire, in cooperation with Capital Technical Rescue and includes the End User and Train-the-Trainer programs.

Hazardous Recognition Training Underway For Camden Fire Department

All Hands Fire, in cooperation with our partners at Safety & Survival Training, today kicked off a class titled "Hazardous Recognition for Firefighters". This class includes an in-depth discussion on 2006 Bronx NY tragedy referred to as "Black Sunday" being presented by Black Sunday survivor and FDNY FF Eugene Stolowski of FDNY Ladder 27. Other class topics inlcude Situational Awareness; Interior Orientation; Interior Hazards Recognition; Overcoming Interior Hazards; Rules of Disengagement, Mayday Recognition and other related topics. All members of the Camden Fire Department will be receiving this class over next two months.

Petzl EXO Escape Systems Coming To Camden NJ Fire Department

The Petzl EXO Firefighter Escape System will soon be worn by the members of the City of Camden Fire Department. The city has selected All Hands Fire Equipment to equip and train Camden’s approximately 200 firefighters. Back in November, All Hands Fire Equipment provided city firefighters with the Gemtor 541NYC Harness. Now one of the nation’s busiest city’s will increase the safety of their members with the addition of these potentially lifesaving devices. All Hands Fire Equipment is the largest provider of Firefighter Escape Systems and will be working cooperatively with Safety & Survival Training Petzl-certified training.

NJ's Largest Fire Department Chooses All Hands Fire For Firefighter Escape Systems

All Hands Fire Equipment has been selected to equip and train New Jersey's largest fire department, the Newark Fire Department in Essex County.  Firefighters are being provided with the Gemtor 541NYC Class II harness and the Sterling F4 Escape Systems with 50-feet of FireTech 32 technora rope.  Each firefighter is attending the eight hour training course which consists of a classroom session, familiarization and fitting of the harness and escape system, and nine bailout slides from a second floor window.

Petzl Announce Exo Change in 2012

Petzl announced today that it will be raising the price of the Petzl EXO Personal Escape System, effective January 1, 2012. Petzl America held prices on the EXO System for the past three and a half years. However, over that time period, material, shipping and production costs have increased significantly and required Petzl to raise prices. "We are certainly sensitive to the needs and financial difficulties that our customers are facing. We plan on doing what we can to discount and assist our Petzl EXO customer – past, present and future", said Donald Colarusso, President of All Hands Fire Equipment and Authorized Trainer for the Petzl EXO. Also, the Petzl EXO system will no longer come with the carry bag. This item will now be sold separately. In preparation for this change, All Hands Fire Equipment, a leading provider for Firefighter Escape Systems, will offer a variety of carry bags including Hip Mounted Bags and a Lumbar Bag.

Kearny Firefighters now trained on Petzl EXO Escape System

Over 100 firefighters from Kearny (NJ) Fire Department are now trained on the Petzl EXO Firefighter Escape System. Members received training over a period of eight days from April 25 to May 5. The training included the basic "End User" training class, as well as several KFD members receiving the "Train-the-Trainer" class. City Firefighters in Bayonne receive Escape System Training

Bayonne firefighters received the Petzl EXO Firefighter Escape System's "Train-the-Trainer" course. The 14 city firefighters are now able to provide the basic "End User" class to their members. The 3-day training program included classroom and hands-on instruction, including requiring each student to perform nearly a dozen bailout slides (jumps) on the rope rescue equipment. Bayonne Fire Department is preparing to equip each of their members with the Petzl EXO Firefighter Escape System and Gemtor 541NYC harness. Firefighters participated in the full day training class, which included a series of 9 bailout slides per students, each slide at an increased level of difficulty. Iselin Fire District 9 received Sterling F4 Escape Systems Training

Firefighters from Iselin (NJ) Fire District #9 recently purchased the Sterling F4 FireTech Escape System. Training was held on April 2 and April 6 at the Middletown Fire Academy. Students participated in All Hands Fire Equipment's "End User" Training Class, which includes a series of 9 bailout slides per students. Each slide at an increased level of difficulty. Another group of Iselin firefighters are schedule to attend another class on April 6.
