PETROGEN OXYGEN BACKFLASH ARRESTOR An oxygen backflash arrestor comes with each Petrogen Standard Package, but additional ones can be purchased. An oxygen backflash can occur in any oxy-fuel torch when fuel enters the oxygen line while the torch is idle and the operator forgets to purge the oxygen line before igniting the torch. Purging the oxygen line is a required procedure for all torches, and urged by all torch manufacturers. Nevertheless, accidents can occur and a backflash arrestor is a useful device that will increase your safety margin. (No backflash arrestor is ever required on the Petrogen fuel line.)
