Petzl Shunt Mechanical Prusik

Self-belay device for rappelling. Works on single or double ropes from 5/16" (8mm) up to 1/2" (12.5mm). It can arrest an uncontrolled rappel or it can be used as a lock off when both hands are needed. Easily slides up or down the rope(s) when the body of the device is pulled and locks off when weight is applied to the cam. Grips extremely well on wet, muddy or icy ropes This is a one person device. Do not suspend more than 300 lb. (136kg) from a Shunt. WARNING: When using a Shunt on doubled ropes both ropes must be the same diameter and equally loaded. Weight 5.6 oz. (158g). Made in France.
