ABOUT US
The president and founder
of All Hands Fire Equipment has been a firefighter
for over 20 years. During the late 1980's and into
2000, he had served in many different capacities for
a variety of different agencies in central New Jersey.
He has been a fire officer, fire chief, training officer,
fire inspector, fire coordinator, fire investigator
and deputy forest firewarden. Today, he continues to
serve as a fire captain with an urban fire department
in central NJ.
In January 2001,
All Hands Fire Equipment was officially created.
Initially
started
out as a hobby with the owner operating from
a small desk, a file
cabinet and a computer inside a small room in his
home. The intention was to specializing in carrying
products used
(but hard
to
find) by
the New York City Fire Department (FDNY). The name "All
Hands" is taken from the common phrase "All
Hands
going
to
work", used daily by the FDNY
and other departments across the country.

As
the website grew and word of mouth spread, so
did the popularity of the products that we carried.
Our personalized and convenient customer
service had the old "mom & pop" family run feel,
which we found to be very accepting by our customers.
Keeping true to our roots and with the help of
numerous retired and active members of FDNY and
other departments, we continued to grow and expand
our product lines - bringing to our customers
the best products that the industry has to offer.
In 2002,
our owners brother joined the All Hands Fire
Equipment family. He brought his extensive business
and marketing experience to business. This proved
to be a very successful event.
In 2003
and 2004 several employees were hired to assist
in handling the increasing growth of the business. |
In December 2005
we opened our first store in Neptune, NJ. This was
a small building offered a tiny show room, a small
shipping area, one office and was ice cold during the
winter! But we made the best of it and continued to
see growth and an increasing interest from the fire
service. We also started to expand, we also saw much
interest from the police, EMS, military and industrial
fields.
In
May 2007, we had the opportunity to expand into
a
larger facility. Our move to 506 Atkins Avenue
in Neptune, NJ allowed us to expand our showroom
and our shipping area. With much more room to
stock, we have been able to maintain a larger
inventory and ship products much quicker than
before.
All Hands
Fire Equipment continues to grow and develop.
We are always adding to our already
extensive line of products. We recently expanded
into uniforms, station wear, job shirts, embroidery,
custom patches and related garments.
Today,
All Hands Fire Equipment continues to work closely
with several city fire department's research
and development units to enhance and improve
both new and old products in the hopes of creating
a more effective products for the fire service. |

"No
budget is too small" is a philosophy
that we have always followed. We understand
that some departments do not have large budgets,
but still need vital equipment. We have always
and will continue to do what we can to meet
those needs under "tight budget" situations.
