Frequently used to climb rope, as a pulling handle or as self belay on fixed rope. Left (gold) and right (blue) handled models. Hand grip insulates in cold conditions and is big enough to accept a bulky glove. Lower carabiner attachment hole is rated at 4,496 lbf. (20kN). Weight 7 oz. (198g) each. Very similar to the Petzl Ascension, the Pump utilizes mechanical advantage to make ascending easier. This device is very useful for climbing a rope with a heavy gear bag. Weight 9 oz. (255g). The Basic is a short handle-less ascender. Right hand model only. Lighter and more compact than the B17. Preferred by some for climbing systems since you have less tendency to pull up with your arms. Can be used for self-belaying on fixed top ropes, etc. Weight 5.7 oz. (161g). Made in France.
