FORCE AXE - 8 LBS. FLAT-HEAD FORCIBLE ENTRY AXE Our 8 LBS. FORCE AXE is the ultimate tool for forcible entry. It is perfectly balanced to lay correctly in the hands and not roll like most other flat head axes. The FORCE AXE is a working axe (versus a cutting axe) and is the ideal tool for that short strike stroke on a Halligan/Pro Bar or padlock breaker. The FORCE AXE has a large hitting surface, measuring 1.5" wide X 3.5" high (much larger than the 6 lbs. flat head axe). This large oversized head makes the strike stroke zone more accurate, easy to hit and maximizes each strike. The cutting edge is annealed (hardened) to keep its edge longer. The head of the FORCE AXE is creatively designed to also act as a wedge to get under, around and in door jambs for door control, leverage and other techniques. At its widest point the axe head measures 1.5". Mid-way it measures 1" to just before the tip which is 1/4". The FORCE AXE is presently the standard axe for the "IRONS" position in New York City. NEW TYPE HANDLE: Super strong handle with a rigid fiberglass core surrounded by durable shock absorbing foam. A combination that eliminates the need for hand grips and prevents splintering and breaking on overstrike. Safety color yellow is luminous in smoke and poor lighting situations. A sanded knurl is embossed in the lower part of the handle eliminating slipping. This is the AXE that you need to pair up with your Halligan bar!
