Dräger AirBoss Lung Demand Valve (LDV)

Firefighters call it the regulator. At Dräger, we call it the Lung-Demand Valve - the LDV. Different names, same expectation: air delivered instantly, reliably, and without hesitation.

The Dräger AirBoss Lung Demand Valve LDV supports consistent airflow performance during high-intensity fireground conditions. Firefighters rely on the Dräger AirBoss Lung Demand Valve LDV to deliver smooth, controlled breathing that matches real-time exertion. This Lung Demand Valve design enhances responsiveness while maintaining durability in demanding environments, helping crews stay focused and efficient throughout operations.

The new Dräger Air LDV is an all-new second-stage regulator designed to keep pace with real fireground exertion. It delivers high-flow air on demand, responding naturally to the firefighter's breathing whether the work involves climbing, crawling, searching, or sustained interior operations.

The LDV incorporates an automatic shutoff function to protect the air supply when it matters most. When the regulator is intentionally disconnected by pressing the large release buttons at the same time, airflow stops immediately, preserving precious air in the cylinder. Pressing only one button will not disengage the regulator, reducing the risk of accidental disconnect during movement or contact.

To respect established training and muscle memory, the LDV is available in both left- and right-hand configurations. Firefighters can operate the system the way they are trained, without relearning habits under stress.

The connection between the mask and LDV is non-indexing, allowing the regulator to be inserted from any angle. Once connected, the LDV and hose rotate a full 360 degrees, giving the firefighter complete freedom of head movement without binding, torque, or restriction.

The result is a regulator that behaves the way firefighters expect it to - secure, responsive, and out of the way - so breathing remains instinctive from entry to exit.
