Gemtor Rope Grab
Automatic rope grab follows a worker up and down a 5/8"- 3/4” diameter vertical synthetic rope lifeline. The unit’s controlled, shock-absorbing action eliminates the need for an energy absorber lanyard. The patented design allows the rope grab to be attached, detached, and positioned at any point on the vertical lifeline. Weighs 1 1/2 lbs. and is made of stainless steel. NY State Approval # 9502. (Approval limited to rope grab only.) VF505WL3 comes with 1" wide x 3' long x 1" polyester web lanyard sewn to rope grab.
*Gemtor VF400 Series & VF505 Series rope grabs for synthetic rope lifelines qualify as OSHA-compliant energy absorbing components of a fall arrest system. When using the Model # VW655 vertical rope grab for wire rope lifelines, an energy absorbing lanyard must be used. Gemtor recommends the use of a 3' lanyard with rope grabs, to ensure that free fall will not exceed 6'.
