This tool is 9.5 lbs. and is 30" long comes standard with Celtex Grips.
History of the Kelly Tool: The first forcible entry tool in the FDNY was the "Claw Tool". This tool was described as a heavy and basically "off-centered" tool that was especially dangerous to the firefighter holding it as it was driven into doors. The next generation forcible entry in the FDNY was the "Kelly Tool", named for Captain John F. Kelly of Ladder Company 163. The Kelly Tool removed the curved end at the striking end, allowing a straight drive.
