Sterling FireTech2 50' Rope with Lightning Hook
The official rope of FDNY Personal Escape System, the FireTech is a 7.5mm escape rope made with 100% Technora which will retain core strength after exposure to elevated temps and offers a longer burn through time than mixed fiber ropes. This rope offers high heat and cut resistance, plus has a minimum breaking strength (MBS) of 5,732 lbs. The Technora sheath is heat resistant to 932° F.
FireTech was the very first certified rope that was made of 100% Technora. It is also the only escape rope used by the FDNY in their PSS (Personal Safety System), after passing the New York City Fire Department's rigorous research and development testing program. Actually, the FireTech rope has shown to retain more of its strength after repeated exposures to elevated temperatures, and offers a longer burn through time than mixed fiber ropes.
FireTech is UL certified to NFPA 1983.
You also choose from the Sterling Lightning Anchor Hook or Lightning GT (Gated Technology) Anchor Hook. Sterling Anchor Hooks are precision machined from 7000 series aluminum for strength and durability and weigh less than 8 ounces. They also offer several anchoring options including the use of the hook or the hitching slot. The Lighting Hooks are made in the USA and are UL certified to NFPA 1983.
The anchor hook is attached into a sewn eye termination with heat resistant thread.
