Beach Sand Collapse Rescue Kit
The Beach Sand Collapse Rescue Kit is offered for agencies who may respond to beach environments where a person may become entrapped in a sand collapse. These incidents are dangerous and every second counts to locate and extricate the victim. This basic kit is designed to be carried in a response vehicle, be positioned at lifeguard stands and on beach ATV vehicles. It contains items that can be used to dig and move sand in order to access a trapped victim.
The kit comes in a blue duffel bag with identifying label and measures 36" x 15".

Lifeguards and Beach Patrols sometimes use plastic shovels, plastic scoop shovels and similar lightweight plastic items. Why are the plastic shovels and tools chosen over metal tools? Because metal can cause severe injury, severe limbs, etc. Note that when using lightweight plastic items, these should be considered a one time use and should be replaced after use. Their use should not exceed operating intention, which is the rapid but gentle removal / movement of sand. They are not for lifting and prying. It is recommended to always have an adequate supply of spare flying discs and related items on hand.
This kit should be routinely inspected according to your agencies guidelines. Inspection should be for damage, cracks, breaks, degradation and/or missing items.
