TruBlue SafeLine Controlled Descent Device (41 ft.)

The TRUBLUE™ SafeLine is the ultimate controlled descent device, protecting dropped people and objects while allowing dynamic movement without nuisance lockups

Originally designed for climbing safety, 60,000+ TRUBLUEs are in use around the world, providing millions of controlled descent every day.

SafeLine’s self-regulating magnetic braking system is the result of years of research, development, and testing. TRUBLUEs are engineered to meet the strictest safety standards, including extensive testing by one of the leading certification bodies in the world.

Key Features:

  • Provides uninterrupted protection while enabling freedom of movement.
  • Protects repeat falls and descents without resets, increasing efficiency.
  • Proven indoors and out, trusted worldwide.
  • Utilizes the same eddy current technology as high-speed trains.
  • With roots in climbing safety, 60,000+ devices now safeguard millions every day.

Advanced Technology:

  • Unlike one-time fall SRLs or Yo-Yos, SafeLine is engineered to withstand repeat descents.
  • Provides protection while allowing freedom of movement without nuisance lockups.
  • Self-regulating, magnetic braking technology offers a consistent, controlled descent across the approved weight range.
  • Designed with high-quality parts for indoor or outdoor use.
  • Minimal maintenance and low cost of ownership.
  • Available with four webbing connection types to fit your facility's needs.

Safety Note:

Because of how the device operates, you don’t experience a true freefall while using it. Unlike an SRL, which allows a certain amount of freefall before engaging, this device begins applying braking force as soon as the webbing is loaded during a fall. The braking gradually increases to control the user’s descent speed. The total distance required to reduce the descent speed to 2 m/s depends on several factors, including user weight, the mounting height of the device, and where within the device’s operational envelope the fall occurs. This is all related to the amount of webbing on the spool and how quickly that allows the internal rotor to spin.
